Volunteer at the Nashville Farmers’ Market

The Nashville Farmers’ Market is currently accepting volunteers who want to join us in supporting our local food system and community! After reviewing volunteer duties and requirements, please fill out the form below to become part of our weekend team.

Volunteer requirements

  • All volunteer opportunities are on-site at the Nashville Farmers’ Market. You must have transportation to get to and from the market.

  • Most positions can require moving/lifting of heavy items. However, some roles require less physical duties. Please list any accommodations you may need when prompted in the application so that we can assign you to a volunteer role appropriately.

  • Market staff and vendors communicate via Slack and text. You will be expected to participate in both if volunteering on a regular basis.

  • Volunteers must be 18 or older.

Volunteer duties

  • Info Booth: assist with booth set-up, customer service, merchandise sales, Fresh Bucks/SNAP token disbursement, booth break-down

  • Veggie Valet: watching customer bags, escorting customers to their vehicles

  • Vendor assistance: overseeing booths for breaks (no sales)

  • Facilities assistance: putting up/taking down signage and posters, moving tables/chairs/etc., setting up outdoor games, Farm Shed clean-up

  • Event shifts: running kid zone’s activities, assisting with contests, assisting with nutritional/informational activities
