Nashville Farmers' Market at Vanderbilt is held every Thursday June 5-Oct. 30th, 2014 from 3-6pm in Medical Center Plaza located at 2211 Garland Avenue Nashville, TN 37212.  The Market is centered amongst Langhorn Auditorium, Au Bon Pain (formerly McDonald's) & Monroe Carrell Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

Returning farmers & artisans include; Kelley's Berry Farm, Smiley's Farm, Bells Bend Farm, Lucky Farms, Nature's Promise Farm, Howell's Farm, JD Country Milk, Walnut Hills Farm, Provence Bread, Ousley Ouch Salsa, Sue's Flowers, Auntie T's Granola, Tucker's Nut Butters, Hummus Chick, The Peach Truck, Beach Bums Juice, See Sun Vu's Farm, Legato Gelato, My Friend Who Loves to Cook, Noble Springs Dairy, Johnson's Honey & more. Regular Meeting of the Nashville Farmers' Market Commission

The September regular meeting of NFM Board will be held on the fourth Wednesday, September 24th at 9:30am.   

Regular meetings of the Nashville Farmers' Market Commission typically occur on the 4th Wednesday of each calendar month at 9:30am in the meeting room upstairs at Nashville Farmers' Market next to the administrative offices.

"Meet Me at the Market" with AARP Wednesday 10/8

Meet Me at the Farmers’ Market Presented by AARP is an interactive event - happening the second Wednesday each month - at the Nashville Farmers’ Market. This unique, indoor/outdoor experience offers shopping and dining; cooking, gardening, and group fitness classes; volunteer opportunities and more!  Meet Me at the Farmers’ Market Presented by AARP, is a collaboration between AARP Tennessee and the Nashville Farmers’ Market.

The September Meet Me at the Farmers’ Market will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Activities include: 

·         10:00 am Introduction to Tai Chi demonstration inside Nashville Farmers’ Market (NFM) Market House;

·         10:00 am to 2:00 pm gardening demonstrations and consultations conducted by Master Gardeners of Davidson County – highlighting the best ways to grow fall  flowers and vegetables in your backyard;

·         10:30 am - 1:00 pm Cooking demonstration in the Grow Local Kitchen with Green Fork Academy chefs showing guests how to make  quick, delicious foods using fresh ingredients with samples aplenty;

Community Food Advocates will be available from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to help individuals sign up for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programs/ “SNAP” benefits and providing information on the SNAP “Fresh Bucks” coupon program.

TN History Festival at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park

Bicentennial Capitol Mall hosts Tennessee’s History Festival

Oct 17 – 18 @ Bicentennial Capitol Mall (middle)

Experience day to day life during the mid 19th century at our annual History Festival. Interact with civilians, soldiers and other historic figures as they bring Tennessee’s history alive. This free event features demonstrations, re-enactors and other interpretive programming. School groups may make reservations for Friday’s activities with Park Manager Mike Cole at 615-741-5800.

Last Night Market of the 2014 season- October 17th and kicks off a full weekend of free-to-attend events including Night Market!

Local produce is IN & celebrating  peak season (and fall harvest time!) --has never been so delicious.  This month features a pumpkin-y theme!  If you have been waiting to experience the wonder, joy, and deliciousness of Night Markets now is the time--it's the last one of the season I Come sip, shop, sup, sample, and explore the market under night lights--restaurants, farmers, artisans, crafters, flowers/plants,flea market finds and so much more for you!

Grow Local Kitchen will be cooking with great local flavors for you all night.  Live music with Lightning 100,  adult beverage sales (special beverages offered this month!) smile  with Tennessee Brew Works & D & D Events,  and so much more info to come.

Night Market FRIDAY, Sept. 19th from 5-8pm kicks off a weekend full of flavor at Nashville Farmers' Market (NFM)! It's going to be a "pepper moon" this month --so come on out & get your peppers, pumpkins + so much more.  All events are free to attend.  We can't wait to celebrate fall harvest with you! 
 
FRIDAY 9/19 Night Market Contests & Offerings 5:00 pm-8:30 pm:  Delicious TN hot peppers are IN & Smiley's & Swafford's Farms' & more have tons of spicy options for you. Restaurants and shops will be open until 8:30 pm with special peppered menus. We'll be hosting a Pepper Festival restaurant dish and merchant contest all weekend via Facebook-so make sure you come try their dishes, see the special peppery offerings and vote for your favorite!  Crafters and trucks in North Sheds and Flea Market will be open this evening. Tons of samples, live music, local beers by TN Brew Works, wines by Arrington Vineyards, and a special, signature cocktail.  We're looking forward to new peppery-y offerings from artisans & merchants to debut this night.  Special guests will be in Grow Local Kitchen with pepper-featured items. If you have been waiting to experience the wonder, joy, and deliciousness of Night Markets now is the time as this will be the second to last one of the 2014 season!!

NFM Farmhand Dinner\

This special evening will be held on Thursday, October 23rd from 6:30-8:30pm.  The ticketed event features innovative and delicious interpretations of a traditional farmhand dinner—a time when farm workers would come together to celebrate a successful day in the fields. 

This event is brought to you by Smiley's Farm, Swafford's Farm and features some of Nashville's best Chefs.  More information to come soon and please see below for a "taste" of what 2013's inaugural Farmhand Dinner was like!  PS This event sold out early so stay tuned for ticket sales to begin soon!

Farmhand Dinner 2013:  

The evening begins with a traditional twist on a farmhand “Water Break” with a signature cocktail, wine,  and hors d’oeuvres from 6:30 to7pm.  The dinner also includes select wine pairings and time-honored farmhand-style dinner service, music, and more. Proceeds will benefit developments to NFM’s ongoing work to support local agriculture and educational programs.

We will bring together 30 of Nashville’s best restaurants and a vast array of distilled spirits brand to savor a weekend of bacon, bbq and all the good things that come from old oak barrels.

Enjoy healthy portions of your favorite bacon dishes from Confeastador, The Farm House - Nashville, The Row Nashville, Edley's Bar-B-Que, Chef's Market, Burger Republic, The Local Taco, Donut Den, Two Bits, Rodizio Grill - Nashville, Walker Creek Toffee, City Winery Nashville, The Nashville Jam Company and many more while listening to live country music by Trent Summar & the New Row Mob.

If you're still thirsty after your 15 bourbon samples, we will also have a cash bar with a variety of drinks available. Remember, a portion of all bar sales and ticket sales go directly to the Nashville Phoenix Club - so every sip counts! Complimentary parking will be available in the lot in front of the Farmers' Market, but we encourage you to take a Uber or a taxi (we want you to have some fun).
