Come celebrate the sweetest event of the season at the Nashville Farmers' Market's STRAWBERRY JUBILEE, sponsored by DELVIN FARMS. On May 7, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., we're kicking off the growing season with a celebration that is sure to make you see red -- in a good way! Our farm sheds will be filled with the freshest strawberries grown by our local and regional farmers, and this is your chance to enjoy them before their fleeting season has passed. We'll have live music, a STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE CONTEST (guidelines and schedule below), locally baked pies and cobblers, cocktails, local beer and wine, food trucks, and much, much, more. So put on your best red dress (or suit), your biggest red derby hat, and shimmy on down to the Strawberry Jubilee for a celebration of food, farming, community, and Tennessee agriculture.
Strawberry Tasting 10-11am: Get a taste of our local and regional farmers' bounty of berries with free samples.
Strawberry Shortcake Contest from 11am-12:30pm: According to cookbook historians, the first strawberry shortcake recipe appeared in an English cookbook in 1558. By 1850, Strawberry Shortcake was a popular biscuit-and-fruit dessert, eagerly adopted by Americans who declared June 14th National Strawberry Shortcake Day. We don't want to wait that long, so we're declaring May 7th Strawberry Shortcake Day at the Nashville Farmers' Market and inviting anyone who has ever been told they make the best Strawberry Shortcake ever to put it to the test! Whether you take the classic or creative path, the purist or interpretive approach, we invite you to show off your mad shortcake skills. Simply bring 5 individual servings of your best Strawberry Shortcake and a printd copy of your recipe to the Grow Local Kitchen between 11 and 11:30am (no entries will be accepted after 11:30am). Our panel of esteemed judges will view and review each one. amd at 12:30pm award the Blue, Red, and White Ribbons of Strawberry Shortcake Superiority, as well as a special gift basket from the Nashville Farmers' Market. (NOTE: All contestants are encouraged to use strawberries from one of our local and regional farmers.)
Join us as we partner with our friends at Edible Nashville to bring you live cooking demonstrations by some of our favorite chefs around. On Saturday May 7, 2016, during the Strawberry Jubille, join us between the Farm Sheds for a live demonstration by chef Audra Dykes of Slow Hand Coffee. Chef Audra, an accomplished pastry chef, will walk us through her most delicious strawberry shortcake recipe. Chef Audra's demonstrations will be held at 10am and 11am. You won't want to miss it!

On Saturday May 14th at 1pm, local and regional leaders, including Mayor Megan Barry, will join the AARP Foundation and United Health Care to launch this exciting program at the Nashville Farmers Market. The Nashville Farmers’ Market and The Peach Truck kick off summer by hosting the second annual Peach Jam at the Nashville Farmers’ Market this weekend. The event will kick off at the Market’s monthly Night Market on Friday, June 17 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and continue on Saturday, June 18 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. The Peach Truck will bring the season's first freestone peaches and the festival will include live music, kids' art tent and face painting, food trucks, a Peachy Pastry baking contest (pies, cobblers, tarts, and crisps), and lots more peachy fun.
2nd Annual Community Farm Day at the Nashville Farmers' Market
Join us as we celebrate the bounty of summer produce and our local and regional farmers at the 2nd Annual Community Farm Day, sponsored by The Tennessean and Beaman Park to Bells Bend Conservation Area Board. At Community Farm Day, we're inviting you to visit our Market at the height of peak growing season, and shake the hands of the farmers who produced it all. We'll have contests, live bluegrass music, liv hef demos in the Edible Kitchen, a local meat cookout, a free tomato tasting table, a musical petting zoo for kids, and much more down-home fun for the whole family.
Join us as our friends at Edible Nashville host a live chef demonstration in the Edible Kitchen with chef Mike Arnold at our 2nd Annual Community Farm Day. Chef Arnold will prepare a seasonal recipe in the Edible Kitchen at 10 a.m. and 11. Grab a recipe card and taste a sample after the demo. Don't miss it!
Join the Nashville Farmers' Market and Simons' Produce in celebration of the Southern favorite that really beats the heat--it's the WATERMELON THROWDOWDOWN! Nashville's premiere watermelon festival that's fun for adults and kids alike. On Saturday August 6th, 2016, from 10 am to 2 pm, join us for a Watermelon Tasting Table, a Watermelon Eating Contest, a Watermelon Seed Spitting Booth, and you can even Guess the Weight of Simons' Produce Largest Watermelon! Gulf shrimp and Tennessee veggies will be grilled onsite, as well as sweet watermelon for tasting and purchase.
- 10 am to 2 pm, Grab a grilled gulf shrimp skewer, a grilled wild-caught salmon filet, or some grilled Tennessee grown veggies to raise money for the Music at the Market Fund, sponsored by Virgin Bay Seafood, Nooley's Cajun Cuisine, and B&C BBQ!

Chef Crystal Bogan of The Grilled Cheeserie will demonstrate her recipe for Fresh Watermelon with Hibiscus and Lime Granita--a sweet and refreshing summer salad using seasonal ingredients from our Market. Demonstrations take place at 10am and 11am. Snag a hand-written recipe card from Chef Bogan at the Market, and stick around afterwards for a tasty sample!
Join Yogi Ashley on the patio lawn located on the Bicentennial Park/7th Avenue side of the Market for an invigorating yoga sesh al fresco. Bring your water bottle, mat and/or towel, and $10.
We're kicking off the spiciest weekend of the summer at the Nashville Farmers' Market with our September Night Market! This event is happeneing the night before our annual Pepperfest, and is our opportunity to join us for some of the spiciest cuisines found in Nashville right inside our Market House food hall. Savor the spicy Southern Indian cuisine from Swagruha, choose from a myriad of house-made hot salsas at El Burrito Mexicano, or experience a Korean bibimbap smothered in homemade gochuchaung at Bowl and Roll, among many, many more dinner options!
Don't forget to shop outside under our Farm Sheds with our farmers and food artisans. Sisterhood of the Tamales will be on-site selling their handmade, traditional tamales made with fresh ingredients, and our local farmers will have a myriad of fresh peppers to purchase from the sweetest bell peppers to the hottest habaneros.
Night Market is one of the most unique shopping experiences in Nasville, and an excellent venue for date night and where singles mingle. Live music, cocktails, craft beer in the Picnic Tap, local wine, and lots of hot and spicy fun!

Celebrate the bounty of fall apples, pumpkins, mums, and more at the Nashville Farmers' Market Harvest Celebration on Saturday October 22nd from 10 am to 2 pm. This family-friendly community event will feature tons of fun kids activities, fall recipe chef demonstrations, a Pumpkin Pastry Baking Contest for kids to enter as well as adults, plus live music and the largest selection of fall apples, pumpkins, mums, and greens in all of middle Tennessee! Free and easy parking will be available on site, as well as state lots on 6th Avenue and the corner of Rosa L. Parks Blvd and James Robertson.
This time of year, the Nashville Farmers' Market is bursting with the colors and flavors of fall, and we are excited to share this seasonal shopping experience with our community. The Turnip Green Festival at the Nashville Farmers' Market is back and better than ever! Join us on Saturday, November 5th from 10 am to 2, and enjoy free turnip green and cornbread samples from the World's Largest Pot of Turnip Greens prepared by Smiley's Farm. Savor whole-hog smoked barbecue from Nashville favorite Smokin' Joe. Enter your best cornbread recipe in the Cornbread Cook-Off going down inside the Market House, sponsored by Martha White. City Farm Company will serve a kid-friendly biscuit breakfast with fun toppings and fillings out of the Grow Local Kitchen, and storytime will take place around the Christmas tree in the Market House at 11:30am. Breakfast with Santa at the Nashville Farmers' Market will also feature Kris Kringle himself for your little elf to visit. Come early and snap your own photo with him! Then shop for handmade gifts and fresh farm food inside the Market House and out under our Farm Sheds.

Join us and Local Table Magazine: A Guide to Food & Farming for the Third Annual Community Supported Agriculture Fair on Saturday, February 25th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This free event offers you a chance to meet local farmers, discuss growing methods, learn harvest schedules, pick up locations, and access general information on what a CSA program is and how it supports our local agriculture.
Meet each farmer at their booth and find photos of their farm, view lists of the products they offer, and chat about their particular farming methods. Discover the different CSA models available in the Nashville area, and choose the one that best fits your family's needs for the upcoming growing season.
We'll have food trucks and 14 locally owned restaurants inside our Market House food hall serving breakfast, lunch, hot coffee, and beverages. Enjoy locally crafted beer at The Picnic Tap, or seasonal cocktails and Tennessee wine at the cash bar. Plus chef demonstrations happening in the Edible Kitchen!
