Fre$h Savings for Shoppers on SNAP

The Nashville Farmers’ Market understands that buying healthy food on a limited budget can be difficult. That’s why we’re launching Fre$h Savings — because we want to make access to fresh healthy food easy for everyone at our farmers’ market.

What is Fre$h Savings?

Fre$h Savings is a program made possible by grants from the United States Department of Agriculture and UnitedHealthcare, with additional support from the AARP Foundation. Essentially, the Fre$h Savings program allows you to buy more fresh fruits and vegetables with your SNAP card at the Nashville Farmers’ Market.

Here’s how it works:

Our customers can spend up to $10 on their SNAP cards and get the same amount of money back in Fre$h Savings tokens. These tokens can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the market season. However, Fre$h Savings tokens will expire when the market season is over.

When is Fresh Savings Available?

The Fre$h Savings tokens are given out at the Fre$h Savings booth located under Farm Shed 1 at the Nashville Farmers Market:

  • Every Saturday and Sunday, 8am-2pm
  • Second Wednesday of the month, 10am-2pm

Here’s how it helps:

Fre$h Savings allows our customers on SNAP to shop smarter and eat healthier. Eating a diet of fresh fruits and vegetables can encourage good health and avoid sickness, and encourage a better sense of well-being. Any customer on SNAP can access the Fre$h Savings program at the Nashville Farmers’ Market during the days and time listed above.
