Cooking Up Launches at Nashville Farmers’ Market

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new partnership with Cooking Up—a 9-part cooking class series in the Grow Local Kitchen that focuses on hands-on learning, developed to give back to the community. Cooking Up brings together families and friends for fun and positive cooking experiences designed to teach simple kitchen techniques, easy and healthy recipes, weekly food planning, and how to reduce food waste. Each class that you purchase, Cooking Up will give a free class to someone in need, and at the end of each class, the group will sit down and enjoy a meal together.

This 9 class series will focus on the basics of cooking quick, healthy meals to save money and time. Participants will learn how to use seasonal ingredients and plan weekly meals to make smarter shopping choices and waste less. The goal is to simplify cooking to make eating at home easier and more pleasurable. In each class we will prepare a seasonal meal without a recipe to develop confidence and fearlessness in the kitchen. Each class in the series will build on the knowledge gained in previous classes.
